Landmarks
This building was designed by Greek geometers Isidore of Miletus and Anthemius of Tralles as a Late Antique place of worship. It was the largest Christian church in the Eastern Roman Empire.
The building was turned into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire and from 1935 it was transformed into a museum. In 2020, the monument's status as a museum was revoked and the president of the country in which the building is situated reclassified it as a mosque.
