Languages

This language has changed little in the past thousand years. Texts from 800 years ago can still be understood by modern-day speakers as a result.
Personal names are usually patronymic (and matronymic): surnames contain the name of the father or mother of the child rather than the historic family lineage.
Linguistic purism has resulted in some ingenious neologisms, such as "amber power" for electricity and "number seeress" for computer.
