Season 156 - Day 14 of 14

Mathematics

What is the term for a one-sided surface that is constructed from a rectangle by holding one end fixed and rotating the opposite end through 180 degrees, and then joining it to the first end?
As a mathematical object, it was discovered by two German mathematicians in 1858, but it had already appeared in Roman mosaics from the third century AD.
