In the the 2009 Pixar animated feature film Up, the protagonist of the film, Carl Fredricksen, fills up countless colorful balloons with helium and flies away in his house.
In 2010 FAA licensed pilot Jonathan Trappe mimicked Fredricksen's fictional achievement by filling 54 industrial strength balloons with helium and used them to float over the English channel - a feat no one had ever achieved before.
