A smorgasbord is a meal with a great variety of different foods that are placed on a large table so that people can serve themselves.
Etymologically, the word can be traced back to a specific European language. Which language?
It might help you to know that the root of the word can be split into two parts smorgas that translates into (open-faced) sandwich and bord which means table.
