Country Music

In 2003 at a concert in London, the lead singer of this multi-platinum selling American country music band declared that the band did not endorse the forthcoming invasion of Iraq and was ashamed of the fact that George W. Bush was a Texan.
The remarks triggered boycotts from country fans all over the US. In 2006, the band responded to the backlash with the single “Not Ready to Make Nice”. The song became their biggest hit to date reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and won them a Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
