Season 153 - Day 1 of 14
This trick-taking card game uses a standard 52-card deck. It is played by four players in two competing partnerships with the partners sitting opposite each other.
Each round of the game begins by the players bidding in an auction by declaring how many tricks the partnership will be able to take in the round. During the auction, the partners use their bids to exchange information about the strength of their hands.
After the auction the cards are played, and the declaring side will have to try to fulfill the contract. Unlike in whist, the partnerships remain the same throughout the game.
What is the name of the card game?
