Astronomy

In astronomy, what is the name given to the apparent contradiction between the high likelihood of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations and the lack of evidence or communication with such civilizations?
This paradox is named after an Italian Nobel Prize winner who in a discussion with his colleagues in 1950 famously posed the question "Where is everybody?".
