Season 109 was also the second season of Clash of Countries. Several updates of the scoreboard were made during the season, and it quickly became apparent that the reigning champions, Team Sri Lanka, would not be able to repeat their victory. Last season, the Lankans had 32 players turning out for their nation, but with only 11 active players this season, the competition turned out to be too fierce and they ended up in third place.
For the second season in a row, Team England had the highest average number of points per player (for teams with five players or more) and they overtook Sri Lanka with a comfortable margin. However, Team Denmark had seven players more than the Brits and with only a slightly lower average, Denmark led the competition from start to finish. This is Team Denmark’s first championship – congratulations.
