Season 114 - Clash of Countries

Updated: Jan 16, 2021

13 teams have are competing in Clash of Countries this season... so far. On the surface everything is as usual. Denmark is in the lead, England is second place and Belgium third.

But this might be the season when Belgiums moves up the podium. They have the same amount of players as England, they are only trailing one point and with a Belgian quizmaster, who might attract a few extra players, this might be the first season, where Belgium will pass England on the podium. And who knows, maybe even Denmark. Only time will tell...

And it is worth noting that Norway’s two man team is actually in fourth place. It is doubtfull that they will be able to hold on to that position though, as more Aussies, Lankans and Indians join in. But for now... Well done! Team Quizzers Points

Denmark 13 19 England 7 13 Belgium 7 12 Norway 2 4 Australia 3 4 Scotland 2 3 Sri Lanka 3 3 India 3 3 France 1 2 Germany 1 2 Japan 1 2 Serbia 1 2 USA 1 1

Day 3 Update

16 teams are now competing in the tournament. Denmark is still in the lead, but England really picked up the pace (and five new players) and they are only trailing four points. Belgium is all of a sudden far behind and only one point ahead of India and three in front of Sri Lanka. Looks like the the battle for the last podium place is going to be quite tough... Day 7 Update

Half way through the season 17 teams are competing in the tournament. As per usual Denmark is in front with England in second place and Belguim in third. The really interesting battle is between Sri Lanka in fourth place and India in fifth place as only two points are seperating the two teams. Australia is sixth place is struggling to keep Norway, Serbia and Scotland at bay – only 3 points separate the four teams. The first week is over, so from now on there are fewer easy points, so every point you can get for your country might be decisive... Team Quizzers Points

Day 12 Update

With two days left of the season, it looks almost certain that the three top spots will go to the usual suspects, Denmark, England and Belgium. However, nothing is settled when it comes to fourth place. The two neighbouring countries India and Sri Lanka each have 49 points, India is in front though, because they only have 7 players on the team, against the 8 Lankans. The sixth position should also be mentioned as it is currently held by Serbias two man army. But what men! They both have perfect scores so far! Finally a shout out should go to @Ognjen Kremenovic for putting Bosnia–Herzegovina on the Quizzypedia world map. I hope you will continue playing in the seasons to come...
